Dan has been marketing energy to industry since the markets liberalised, both in the UK and on an international basis first for a supplier then a US trading company. Dan has an excellent knowledge of both flexible and structured products and works hard to ensure all your issues are understood before suggesting possible solutions and the best way forward.
In the newly liberalised UK market, Dan lead consumer negotiations for gas supply contracts concluding transactions totalling L76m. A move to the trading team of TXU Europe gave responsibility for embedded generation purchases culminating in the successful negotiation of 70MWe of energy conversion agreements.
A posting to Milan, Italy in 1999 brought international experience as TXU attempted to break into the newly deregulated electricity market focusing primarily on large industrial consumers.
On returning to the UK Dan successfully devised and implemented the first flexible retail products for TXU. This allowed large industrial customers to structure the purchase of energy more flexibly through wholesale priced contracts. His experience was strengthened further after joining an American trading house marketing structured energy hedging products to upstream power, gas and oil companies before becoming an energy consultant in 2003.
