Phil has 14 years experience in the UK gas and electricity industry where he has worked in both operational and commercial roles, originally with a small independent operator and later within a large utility. While at Encore, Phil has been developing energy related products to support clients with renewable obligation certificates, climate reduction commitment submissions and CO2 emissions reporting for carbon footprint management.

There are only a handful of experts on the rules governing UK energy trading and supply. Phil was part of the team that implemented the New Electricity Trading Arrangements in 2001 and has been a member of the Industry's Supplier Volume Allocation expert panel since its inception.

Phil was part of the team who designed the processes which support domestic electricity retail competition in Great Britain. At TXU Europe he had operational responsibility for the Industrial and Commercial gas retail business specifically; pricing, customer registration, meter reading and management of the back office functions associated with gas transportation, meter reading and billing.

Previously Phil designed the electricity billing system for Slough Heat & Powers portfolio of industrial and domestic customers and was responsible for negotiating the retail prices and fuel purchases for the power station.
