Prices followed the movement of oil as prices gained on Thursday, due to an oil platform fire in the Gulf of Mexico, and worries of a hurricane disrupting oil facilities in the US. A softer dollar and better than expected data from the US on housing and jobs also supported prices, as  data showed improvement in housing, the job market and retail sales a day ahead of the key monthly payrolls figure.
